ISR researcher Boris Rähme will present a paper at the 2017 conference of the Italian Association for Digital Humanities and Digital Cultures (AIUCD). The conference, entitled "The Reverse Telescope: Big Data and Distant Reading in the Humanities”, will take place at Sapienza University in Rome from 26 to 28 January 2017 (the conference programme is available here).



The latest issue of the journal "Annali di studi religiosi", 17, 2016, is now online, available here

Number 17 contains articles by Harvey Cox, Giovanni Filoramo, Pierre Gisel, and Enzo Pace among others.


The relationships between security and human rights (and especially religious freedom) are today at the centre of global debates among experts. International security and human rights have always been thought as complementary, interdependent and mutually reinforcing. But today this approach is challenged by several factors: the approval of legal norms limiting the exercise of the right to religious freedom in the name of preventing terrorism, the rise of populist movements, the instrumentalisation of religion.


In collaboration with the German research project “Tiefe Meinungsverschiedenheiten/Deep Disagreements”, based at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, the Center for Religious Studies (FBK-ISR) is organizing an international conference entitled “Arguing Religion: Disagreement, Recognition, and the Reach of Argumentative Debate”.

In July 2016 FBK-ISR (Center for Religious Studies) and the Center for the Study and Documentation of Religions and Political Institutions in Post-Secular Society - University of Rome Tor Vergata have signed a cooperation agreement within the FBK project Religion and Violence.
