The Davide Zordan Lecture is annually held in Autumn. It was established to honor the memory of a researcher of the Center for Religious Studies of FBK, who died in 2015.
In this year’s edition, Paolo Costa will start with a reflection on human existence and the failures that inevitably characterize it. The life of people and institutions is never linear and often gives the impression of systematically leading to dead ends. In a book written by the speaker in collaboration with Davide Zordan, this stalemate was evoked in the title through the image of a dark room. In the ominous historical circumstances we are experiencing, cultivating hope and faith in the future can sometimes seem no less arduous a task than looking for a black cat in a dark room. But if we want to treasure Davide Zordan’s theological and human lesson, we must recognize that the last word has not yet been said. The Zordan Lecture 2025 is an invitation to embark on a journey through the present to discover in our personal experience the resources we need to make a twisted life truer than a straight one.
