May words heal and represent a way of healing?
Starting from a research on communication in medicine, the speakers will dialogue with Stefania Cavagnoli about her book “La parola può guarire. Un’analisi interdisciplinare della comunicazione medica” (Mimesis 2025), to explore how, words and illness narratives can serve as a fundamental component in and for caring. A cultural interpretation of medicine can help restore at present the deepest meaning of the act of healing.

The event is part of the 2026 Programme of the ‘Health and Humanities’ Laboratory of the Department of Literature and Philosophy – ‘Medicine and Contemporary Humanities’ Series.

The event will be held in Italian.
The event will take place in person in the Aula Grande of the Bruno Kessler Foundation, subject to availability, and online.
