6-8 June 2017 | Arguing Religion: Disagreement, Recognition, and the Reach of Argumentative Debate


Conference, open to the public upon registration | English 

The international conference, which is part of the research activities under the ISR project “Arguing Religion”, will explore the prospects, the reach and the goals of argumentative responses to religious disagreements. It is organized in collaboration with the German research project “Tiefe Meinungsverschiedenheiten/Deep Disagreements” (Alexander-von-Humboldt University Berlin and Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg). Various internationally renowned scholars in philosophy of religion, religious studies, and philosophy of law have confirmed their participation as speakers. Among the keynote speakers: Akeel Bilgrami (Columbia University) and Richard Feldman (University of Rochester).
