THE SEARCH FOR THE ESSENTIAL IN ALPINE ENVIRONMENTS
The research project aims to investigate the spiritual and existential meanings that many people attach to the Highlands today.
The objective of the investigation is twofold:
- To understand the extent to which a reconnection between individuals and Mountains can generate significant changes in people’s lifestyles and life plans
- Check whether this cultural transformation is also laying the foundation for imagining alternative modernities in response to the challenges of environmental and social sustainability that humanity will face in the coming decades.
