The fourth event in FBK-ISR’s 2018 series “Religion & Innovation” continues the exploration of the relation between religion and new media initiated in February with the workshop on religion and video games.

Heidi Campbell (Texas A&M University), Andrea Rota (University of Bern), Giulia Evolvi (Ruhr-Universität Bochum) and Timothy Hutchings (Durham University) will present their current research on religious communities and digital technologies, investigating both the question of how religious communities adopt technologies which are already available, and the question of whether and, if so, how precisely religious communities play a role in the development of novel technologies.
