FBK-ISR International Seminar 2023
In recent years, the issue of consent as a fundamental yet elusive element in the shaping of legitimate sexual relations has ignited public debate, calling into question an entire framework of relationships and redefining the threshold between acceptable and unacceptable even at the level of language. Under observation is the availability of the body of the Other and the Other’s and the crossing of the threshold that separates mine from yours. A theme, that of the relationship between subject, will, one’s own and others’ corporeity, which for centuries has engaged the reflections of theologians and jurists, and which has found in the institution of marriage the place of excellence of normative production around the contractual nature of the conjugal bond, the only form of acceptable sexual bond. What impact has this impressive work of regulation had on the imagination and regulation of other bonds? What vision of the sexed human has it helped to create?
