Our position paper on religion and innovation at the University of Münster

On 3 June 2019, Paolo Costa and Boris Rähme will present FBK-ISR’s position paper “Religion and Innovation” at the Cluster of Excellence “Religion and Politics. Dynamics of Tradition and Innovation” , based at the University of Münster, Germany. Employing central elements of the position paper, in particular the triangular model “innovation in religion – religion in innovation – religion of innovation” and the reconstruction of the normative nature of the concept of innovation, Costa and Rähme will present the Center’s work on religion and innovation since 2016. Moreover, their talk will propose a critical and constructive analysis of today’s widespread trust in the goodness of technological and social innovation, as well as its impact on the complex relationship between religion and innovation in contemporary societies.
