THE LAST FACE. UTOPIAS AND DYSTOPIAS OF THE VISAGE AHEAD

17 October 2024

From October 28th to 31st, the historic Valentino Castle in Turin will be the stage for “FACETS”,  an international event that brings together experts in visual semiotics, artificial intelligence, and digital humanities.
Organized with the involvement of the Bruno Kessler Foundation (FBK), the event aims to explore how these fields influence our understanding of identity, representation, and technology.

Key topics include the evolution of facial representation, the utopias and dystopias of the gaze, and the ethical implications of facial recognition in medicine. Participants will have the opportunity to attend stimulating presentations and discussions, engaging with cutting-edge research and innovative methodologies.

The event is open to all interested parties and represents a significant opportunity to exchange ideas and foster collaborations, contributing to the future of semiotic studies in the digital age.
Participation is free, and the full program is available here.
