The Religion Today Film Festival will be held in Trento from 23 to 30 September

22 September 2020

The 23rd edition of the Religion Today Film Festival will start on 23 September and will continue until 30 September.

Since 1997 Religion Today has been the foremost international and itinerant film festival dedicated to Cinema and Religions for a culture of peace and dialogue between faiths, cultures, peoples and individuals. Its aim is to promote a journey through the “differences”, both in religious practices and beliefs and in cinematic styles and languages, towards a mutual enrichment through reciprocal knowledge and comparison. Together with the world cinema competition, it offers a platform for exchanging ideas and viewpoints. This year’s theme is our care of the earth.

The collaboration between the Center for Religious Studies and the Festival has ancient roots, which overlap in the common memory of Davide Zordan, who was President of the Festival and whose fifth death anniversary falls on 25 October. This strategic partnership is renewed annually, in line with the mission of the Center, in the name of a convergent interest in the complex relationship between religion and innovation in contemporary societies.

In this edition of the Festival, our researcher Marco Guglielmi participates as a committee member for granting the special award “The Spirit of the mountain”.

The Festival spaces will be limited to comply with current safety regulations and to ensure the health of audience and staff. All events will be available in live streaming on the Religion Today Film Festival Facebook page. The program of screenings and all the events are available on the website www.religionfilm.com.
