A Roundtable Discussion on the Soul organized by FBK-ISR and the University of Trento

22 May 2018

Paolo Costa, researcher of FBK-ISR, Paola Giacomoni (University of Trento), Roberta De Monticelli (University San Raffaele Milan), Valeria Bizzarri (University of Heidelberg), Enrico Piergiacomi (University of Trento), Nicolò Valentini (University of Trento) will participate in a roundtable discussion entitled “A Soulless World?”

The debate will take its cue from a special issue of the journal “La società degli individui” (57/2016) devoted to the religious, philosophical and historical meanings of the idea of the soul. Embracing its multidisciplinary approach, the speakers will tackle the issue from a variety of standpoints that converge on the question of the practical and theoretical consequences of keeping or setting aside once and for all a concept which, for centuries, has been regarded as essential for understanding the human condition.

The roundtable discussion will be held at the Department of Literature and Philosophy of the University of Trento (via Tommaso Gar, 14), room 006, on 24 May 2018.

Paola Giacomoni will introduce the debate and leave the floor to Roberta De Monticelli, Paolo Costa, Valeria Bizzarri, Enrico Piergiacomi e Nicolò Valentini.

The event is part of the activities of investigation and dissemination of the research line Spirituality and lifestyles.
