Compassion. A dialogue among neurosciences, religion and ethics

What does it mean compassion, this complex feeling that regards the definition of the personal, relational and social identity? What allow neurosciences understand about it, and which form takes compassion in the present time, intended as a technological era? Erminio Gius, professor of Social psychology at the University of Padua, reflects in his book about this topic considering the contribution psychology, theology and ethics can bring and in terms of challenges for the person and the community in the present global era.
In line with the mission of the Center for Religious Studies, centered on the relationship between religion and innovation, this confrontation on compassion can enlight the attention many different religious traditions reserve to this attitute and can show what it can represent for the present time.
