Accursio Graffeo
- PhD trainee
Accursio Graffeo is PhD student in the national programme DREST (Italian Doctoral School of Religious Studies), curriculum Transdisciplinarity and Technological Frontier Research, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia together with the University of Turin. He’s conducting a research project on artificial intelligence (AI) in relation to new religious movements. He’s also on secondment at the Bruno Kessler Foundation (ISR-FBK). He holds a Master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology from the University of Turin, with a thesis on the work of the anthropologist, religious scholar and professor Enrico Comba. He subsequently published his first monograph, entitled “Religioni e complessità. L’antropologia di Enrico Comba e i Nativi nordamericani”, released in 2022 by Accademia University Press of Turin. On the social work side, he has more than a decade of work experience in the field of social community empowerment in the metropolitan district and suburban quarters of Milan, especially in public housing areas with different social extractions and multicultural origins. He also has a solid experience in social design and project writing, with many projects financed in prestigious calls for proposals. In the field of anthropology, he is a member of the editorial board of AceTonico, an online project for independent and participatory anthropological publishing.
