Tommaso Ropelato
- PhD trainee
I am a PhD candidate at the Doctoral School of Religious Studies (DREST), specializing in the ethical implications of repro-genetic biotechnologies and the role of AI in reproductive decision-making. I hold both a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Università di Trento, where I graduated with honors.
My doctoral research focuses on the ethical analysis of informed consent mechanisms in the context of reproductive genetic technologies, exploring their implications for autonomy, responsibility, and value-sensitive decision-making.
As a Horizon Europe Young Ambassador 2022, I contribute to initiatives on cancer prevention and science communication, advocating for responsible and accessible medical innovation. Beyond academia, I founded Prismag, a monthly magazine covering innovation, culture, and society, and AlterThink, a blog recognized with the Economie della Fiducia 2021 award by Corriere della Sera as a change-maker project. Additionally, I collaborate as a freelance contributor with the newspaper L’Adige.
