The Davide Zordan Lecture is annually held in Autumn. It was established to honor the memory of a researcher of the Center for Religious Studies of FBK, who died in 2015.
Daria Pezzoli-Olgiati’s will focus on the key question for any student of religion. Religion is a fundamental dimension of contemporary culture. Deeply intertwined with cultural history, it is a place where existential meanings are formed, negotiated and transmitted. It continually adapts to the challenges of life and society by taking different forms in a constant tension between inspiration and abuse, the imagination of a benevolent world and the legitimization of crude violence. The Zordan Lecture 2024 is an invitation to embark on a walk in borderlands, understood in the broadest sense of the word. The end goal is to discover surprising, marginalized or ignored aspects of an age-old and present phenomenon.
The volume collecting the Zordan Lectures (M. Shawn Copeland – Ingolf U. Dalferth – Robert A. Orsi, Alla prova del tempo. Religioni e civiltà, a cura di P. Costa, EDB, Bologna 2024) will be available for the occasion.
The lecture will be in Italian.
Modalities of participation:
Attendance free.
The event will also be broadcasted on the FBK YouTube channel.
L’iniziativa è stata realizzata anche grazie al contributo della Direzione generale Educazione, ricerca e istituti culturali del Ministero della Cultura. |
